Decree Fungicide Receives Full Registration for use on Greenhouse Lettuce
CARY, N.C. (August 20, 2007) – Arysta LifeSicence North America today announced full registration for DECREE®
50 WDG Fungicide in Canada for use on greenhouse lettuce. The Canadian
Pest Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA) approved the product for use
in controlling Botrytis disease. DECREE Fungicide was previously granted temporary registration on
greenhouse lettuce. As a result of additional data being submitted by
Arysta LifeScience to the PMRA, full registration was granted in June
2007. “The full registration is exciting news for greenhouse lettuce
growers because it provides a permanent tool that can be consistently
counted on for control of Botrytis disease,” says Mark McLear, Arysta
LifeScience Business Manager, Horticulture in Canada. “Greenhouse
tomato growers can attest to the effectiveness of DECREE against
Botrytis. “A key benefit for greenhouse lettuce growers is that DECREE is the
only Group 17 fungicide in this market, making it an excellent
resistance management tool,” McLear says.
The active ingredient in DECREE has a unique mode of action making
it an ideal product that can be used in rotation in an overall disease
management program. Due to its favorable toxicological profile, the
product is classified as a Reduced Risk compound by the U.S.
Environmental Protection Agency. In addition, the WDG formulation is
easy to handle and use, offers application flexibility and shows
minimal residue on plant tissue. For control of Botrytis in greenhouse lettuce, apply 1.5 kg of
DECREE per hectare beginning when conditions are favorable for disease
development, applying no more than two applications per crop cycle.
Applications can be made up to three days prior to harvest. Read all
label directions for complete details on application. Headquartered in Tokyo, Japan, Arysta LifeScience is the world’s
