North Dakota Wheat Growers Head to Australia
SAN FRANCISCO (Sept. 28, 2005) – Tim and Karen Smith of Walhalla, N.D., will be spending a two week vacation down under, having won a trip for two to Australia from Arysta LifeScience.
Mr. Smith won the trip by entering his name in a promotion held this past year for EVEREST® Herbicide conducted by Arysta LifeScience. Wheat growers could enter at tradeshows, through a business reply card or by going to the Arysta LifeScience website. A total of 7,316 entries were received for this trip. Costs covered in the trip include airfare, accommodations, car rental and spending money.
“We are excited about the trip, which we plan to take right after Thanksgiving when it will be summer in Australia,” said Smith. “We have traveled to Hawaii, Mexico, Jamaica and the Caribbean, but this trip will be different as it’s not something we would have done on our own.”
Tim used EVEREST this year on approximately 2,000 acres of wheat, and feels it is a good chemistry that takes care of his resistant wild oats. He has been using EVEREST for the past couple of years and hasn’t had any trouble with wild oat escapes, saying “I put it on, expect it to work, and it does.” EVEREST is a perfect fit for wheat growers interested in flush after flush control of green foxtail and wild oats.
“We are pleased to be able to provide Tim and Karen Smith with the trip for two to Australia,” said Tony Zatylny, herbicide product manager with Arysta LifeScience. “Some of the highlights of their trip will be a farm visit and tour, visiting the Sydney harbour, discovering the Blue Mountain wildlife and spending a couple of days in Cairns to see the Great Barrier Reef. We hope this will provide them with a much deserved holiday this winter.”
