Arvesta Announces Registration of CLUTCH™ Insecticide

SAN FRANCISCO (March 23, 2005) – Arvesta Corporation recently announced the federal Section 3 registration of CLUTCH™ Insecticide for broad-spectrum insect control in apples and pears. CLUTCH, a Clothianidin-based insecticide, provides excellent control of sucking insects and several Lepidoptera species.

"We are excited about the registration of CLUTCH which supports our strategy for growth in the specialty crops market," said Elin Miller, president and CEO of Arvesta.

According to Tom Justmann, vice president, specialty, “The registration of CLUTCH will enable us to make our offering to U.S. pome fruit growers this season. With its unique biological activity, CLUTCH provides growers with an excellent crop protection tool at a time when some older chemistries are being withdrawn from the market.”

In outlining the benefits of CLUTCH, product manager Tom Kroll stated, "It’s a broad-spectrum insecticide that provides rapid knockdown and residual activity. Along with its documented insect control and its resistance management benefits, CLUTCH also features an excellent safety profile. Its 12-hour restricted entry interval (REI) and seven-day pre-harvest interval (PHI) offer growers added flexibility in their crop production program. All things considered, we believe CLUTCH is an excellent compliment to growers’ existing pest control options."
