Tatsumi Ikeda - Global Head, Japan Technology Licensing
Tatsumi Ikeda is head of global product licensing and acquisitions for Arysta LifeScience Corporation, based in Tokyo, Japan, a position he has held since 2004. As such, he is a key player in the company’s growth strategy in the global crop protection business.
For 25 years prior to joining Arysta LifeScience, Ikeda was a senior international manager for two leading global crop protection companies — Nissan Chemical Industries (1994 to 2004) and Monsanto (1979 to 1994).
For Monsanto, Ikeda managed a variety of registration, licensing and development functions. Based in St. Louis between 1992 and 1994, he was marketing manager for a US$28 million Roundup herbicide portfolio.
Ikeda joined Nissan Chemical in 1994 as U.S.-based group vice president for agricultural chemicals before being named Nissan’s business director for Europe and America. In 2002, he was named general manager of Nissan’s US$70 million international agricultural chemical business.
Ikeda holds a bachelor’s degree in agronomy (plant protection) from Kobe University and a master’s degree in international business studies from St. Louis University.
